Hello everyone! I finished reading another book last week. Another great dark fantasy book by Alexandra Christo – To Kill a Kingdom. This is a story about a Siren name Princess Lira and a prince Name Elian.
Rating at 3.87 from Goodreads readers and I was influenced by most of the booktokers. This is my first purchased from Bookdepository, shipping took almost a month and I – almost give up. But I did purchased more books from Bookdepo.
Book ReviewTo Kill a Kingdom by Alexandra Christo
Short Summary:Princess Lira is siren royalty and revered across the sea until she is cursed into humanity by the ruthless Sea Queen. Now Lira must deliver the heart of the infamous siren killer or remain a human forever. Prince Elian is heir to the most powerful kingdom in the world and captain to a deadly crew of siren hunters. When he rescues a drowning woman from the ocean, she promises to help him destroy sirenkind for good. But he has no way of knowing whether he can trust her.
𐐪𐑂 What I like 𐐪𐑂– Siren/Mermaid World and their power. The more I get to know them, the more excited I am – Elian was a powerful characters, he knows how to act – My level of curiosity to know how it ends, just blow off when the battle starts. – I like how the story flows until the final battle
𐐪𐑂 Overall thoughts 𐐪𐑂I’ve been wanting to read this book and this book doesn’t disappoint me. The main reason is because I am so intrigued on the plot. The more I read the more curious I become. Reading this book is very easy, this is a great stand-alone book you can read. The beginning was not easy for me as I’m like ‘what the hell is siren / mermaid? How do they live? How did they exist?’ and more questions popping out of my head, but that wasn’t hard to follow.
Damn yeah Sirens are so much darker than I imagined. Lira and Elian “enemy to lovers” troupe wasn’t giving me the expectation that I pictured. I didn’t feel the love-hate-romance but it was Okay because I am more interested to know about their missions.
